my creative space: gocco workshop

On the weekend, I got to take part in a fun Gocco workshop with my fellow blogging and creative friend, Jo from Bubala  at Sweets Workshop which was run by the lovely Emma and John! I was SO excited to learn all about Gocco and OMG it didn't disappoint... it was so much fun! I can totally understand why people go a bit nutso and slightly crazy over Gocco! LOVE it!

I had SO much fun... I just love learning new fun things! Here is my day in pictures :)

:: preparing my "kitty luvs bear" illustration
- I decided to not include kitty's tail... it looked a bit weird :)

:: burning colour no.1 on the screen, using the RISO Gocco machine... very exciting!

:: The cracked yellow bulbs look so gorgeous after being used :)

:: colour no.1 in process and drying on the rack

:: mixing up the grey for colour no.2

:: getting some great instruction from John

:: colour no.2 in progress and drying on the rack
- so exciting :)

:: I printed some plain ones on watercolour paper
- I'm planning to paint some watercolour on these ones

:: finished "kitty luvs bear" on different papers

:: Love them!

I am so thrilled with how they turned out! Emma and John were so lovely and helpful, such a great little workshop!  Sweets Workshop will be having a Gocco exhibition on the 23rd March and "kitty luvs bear" will be in it! I'm so excited!

Hope you have had a wonderful creative week... check out what other creative people have been up to at my creative space!

my creative space: bag love/obsession

I have a little thing for the colour emerald green and when I saw some gorgeous emerald green linen at spotlight, I drooled over it and HAD to have it! So for the last week... or so, I have been dreaming about what to do with it... a bag of course! I decided to use my feather arrow design which I am in love with at the moment.

:: I had to re-cut my feather arrow stencil as I destroyed the previous one

:: I screen printed my feather arrow design in gunmetal ink on the bag panels

I didn't have any suitable fabric for the lining, so I decided to make my own! I love the fact I can make fabric if I need it!

I thought confetti! I traced out the panel, sprinkled some confetti until I liked how it looked (this took a while!) FYI - I placed the screen on top of the sprinkled confetti and did one pass with the ink and squeegee on the screen so the confetti bits stick to the bottom side of the screen and then you can screen print the design on to other fabric.

:: sprinkling confetti is hard work!

:: screen printing confetti design

:: ready to put all together - loving the confetti lining!

:: my new bag :)

:: Love love love it!!

Woo hoo... a lovely new bag! I am so HAPPY with how it turned out!

my creative space: mr bunny

My dear little man wanted me to make him a little softie, a new friend for Kitty and Bear... I just couldn't refuse!! I got out my favourite knitted softie pattern from here (I have enlarged it slightly).

He decided that he wanted a bunny and got very excited when I pulled out all my wool! He chose orange and green.. the bunny had to be orange with a green body! I was also under strict orders not to do any knitting when he wasn't around, as he wanted to see Mr Bunny being made! So sweet! So there was no knitting at night in front of the TV for me!

He loved watching the process and was very excited when I was knitting the different bits, especially the arms and legs!

I love Mr Bunny, he turned out really cute, even if he does look like he's eaten way to many carrots! Too funny I think!

And of course Mr Bunny needed a pet carrot, so I crocheted (pattern here) this funny little guy!

It's such a wonderful feeling to be able to make something for my little man that he totally LOVES! It makes me a very happy and proud mum!
